Add your items
Products, menu items, sizes, services, and things sold by weight.
Add an item
- Go to Inventory and tap Add Item (or use the middle button → Add Product).
- If your store sells more than one kind of thing, choose the kind of item first.
- Enter the name customers know it by — like the label or shelf tag.
- Enter the selling price and, if you know it, how much you paid. Cost powers your profit numbers.
- Enter how many you have now under Stock on hand.
- Add a Category and a photo if you like, then tap Save Item.
Kinds of items
- Grocery item / Product — sold per piece or by pack, with a stock count.
- Packaged item — drinks and packaged goods, with a stock count.
- Menu item — made to order, so there's no stock to track. Add sizes like Solo or Family.
- Item with variants — one item in several sizes or colors. Each variant gets its own price and stock, and shows up as its own item, like “T-shirt (S)” and “T-shirt (M)”.
- Service — labor you charge for, with no stock.
- Sold by weight — priced per kg or lb, for produce, meat, and fish.
- Supply — used in your store but not sold, like cups or oil. It doesn't appear at checkout but still tracks stock and shows up on your shopping list.
Packs and cases
Sell something both by the piece and by the pack? Turn on Sold by pack or promo too? and enter the Pieces per pack and the total price for the whole pack — not per piece.
Buy it by the case from your supplier? Enter the Pieces per case and what you paid, and Kalamooo works out your cost per piece.
Low-stock alerts
Set a Low stock threshold to get a warning when an item drops to that number. If you leave it blank, it defaults to 5. Full stock is how many a normal restock brings you back up to — it's used to build your shopping list.
